Djordje Petrovic joins New England Revolution - National keeper arrives from Čukarički
Major League Soccer side New England Revolution have found their replacement for Matt Turner, who will leave the club for Arsenal in the summer. On Wednesday morning the MLS club announced that they have signed Serbian national team goalkeeper Djordje Petrović from Serbian SuperLiga club FK Čukarički to a three-year contract with an option for one additional year. The fee is expected to be in the range of $1 million.
“Djordje is a welcomed addition to our roster," New England Revolution head coach Bruce Arena said in a club statement. "He is a young goalkeeper with excellent physical qualities and potential. His play in the Serbian SuperLiga has been impressive, and we feel he has a great future with our club.” Petrović made his debut for the Serbian national team in January 2021 and has recorded nine clean sheets in 27 games across all competitions for Čukarički this season.
